Our Cromwell Road Day Nursery & Pre-School is a caring and playful environment that will appeal to your child’s natural curiosity and thirst for knowledge.

Our experienced practitioners will use your child’s interests to plan activities that will promote their all-round development. Your child’s progress will be closely monitored, with observations informing plans that will be tailored to their specific needs, enabling them to progress at their own pace.

As well as learning on-site, we regularly take the children on learning walks into the local community.

Throughout the year, we offer a range of extra-curricular activities, such as sports sessions led by a professional coach.

As an inclusive setting, we have a dedicated, well-resourced sensory room to support children with sensory issues and/or special educational needs and disabilities.

Our menus, cooking practices, commitment to reducing food waste and our use of sustainable ingredients earned us a Healthy Choice Gold Standard Award, and in our most recent Food Hygiene & Safety Inspection we achieved 5 out of 5 stars.

Baby Snug (3 – 15 months)

One of our key aims in this room is to help your baby settle into nursery by creating a warm, caring, and secure environment. Our baby room has been thoughtfully designed to encourage safe exploration, supporting their natural curiosity as they grow.

Some of the activities your child can enjoy in this room include sensory bottles, edible sand, water play, a role play corner, baby yoga, baby massage, music and reading time.

The Toddler Den (15 months – 2.5 years)

In our toddler room we begin to foster independence, so your child will be encouraged to start self-serving at mealtimes (with adult support), getting their coat ready for the garden and, when ready and with parental agreement, will be supported making the transition from nappies to using a potty.

The resources your child will have access to throughout the day include playdough, sand, water, a role play area, a construction area, painting and mark making. We also have group time with singing and stories.

Pre-School Study (2.5 – 4 years)

In our pre-school room we increase our focus on independence to prepare your child for school. They will be encouraged to get their coats and shoes and put them on when going out to the garden and going home. We also ask them to serve their own lunches, pour their own water and clear their plates when they have finished eating.

On the pre-school floor they have two rooms; one is an activity room where they can sit down at tables to take part in numeracy and literacy activities. They also have a construction area and a reading corner.

Their other room is an art room where they always have playdough available, painting/sticking, sand, a role play corner and a space for train tracks and vehicles.
